Weather Conditions
To protect the pet's health and well-being, temperature restrictions have been established to ensure the pet is not exposed to extreme heat or cold. It is not safe to transport a pet if the forecasted temperature in any city on its itinerary is below 45°F or above 85°F. If the temperature is outisde these limits, Frontier cannot transport the pet unless the passenger gets a Certificate of Acclimation signed by the pet's veterinarian.
The Certificate of Acclimation must include:
- A statement by the veterinarian that to the best of his/her knowledge, the pet is acclimated to air temperatures below 45°F or above 85°F
- A statement by the veterinarian giving a minimum and maximum temperature the pet can safely withstand when traveling
- The signature of the veterinarian dated no more than 10 days prior to the originating departure.
There is a bottom line, please know that even with a Certificate of Acclimation, Frontier cannot accept a pet when the temperature is below 10°F or above 95°F. Frontier Airlines stands by this rule because we love pets as much as you do and don't want to see any harm come to them. Please make sure to keep weather in mind when planning a trip with a pet.

Top Ten Tips: Take a look at Frontier's "Top Ten" list of tips and rules for traveling with pets.
#10 - Know that some passengers are allergic to animals. It is for this reason that Frontier does not accept pets in the cabin. They will take very good care of your pet. Please understand the procedures so both passenger and special friend will have a nice trip.
#9 - Make reservations for the pet with Frontier's Reservation Dept. rather than through the website.
#8 - Visit your vet before traveling and make sure all health and pet travel documents are current and compliant with local, state and federal requirements and regulations. Frontier will require a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian who examined the pet within 10 days of transport on outbound travel.
#7 - Check the weather at pet's destination. Frontier cares greatly about pets, so won't accept a pet when current or forecasted temperature is above 85°F or below 45°F.
#6 - Consult with the pet's veterinarian if pet is pug-nosed, as these breeds may experience breathing difficulties during flight.
#5 - Be sure to clip pet's nails to protect against hooking on kennel doors.
#4 - If traveling with puppies or kittens, remember they must be at least 8 wks old. Two littermates between 8 wks and 6 mths old, weighing no more than 20 lbs each, may be shipped in the same kennel, provided it is large enough for them to turn around and stand up.
#3 - Place identification tags or labels on the pet's collar and kennel, include flight information, all important contact names and phone numbers.
#2 - Always discuss plans to fly with a pet with the pet's vet. Very young or very old animals may not travel well. Never make a decision about tranquilizing a pet without first consulting a doctor
...and the #1 thing to consider when traveling with a pet is...
Tape a plastic zip bag containing additional food to the top of the kennel. All kennels must be fitted with food and water trays. Remember to include a favorite toy in the kennel to help calm the pet's nerves and feel less anxious.

Container cannot hold supplies or toys other than required food, water and absorbent material.
NOTE: This is contrary to the tips listed which suggests a favorite toy be placed in the carrier to help calm the pet. This information is taken directly from the airline's website. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to seek clarification.
